Playbooks by scenario
The getting-started flow fits most breaks. Here's how it shifts for a few common situations — find the one that sounds like you.

Team / box breaks on Whatnot
The classic. You open sealed boxes or cases live, and buyers purchase teams (or random ) and receive every card pulled for their team.
Recommended flow
- 1Add your sealed as product.
- 2Create a (or ); set the spot list to the teams.
- 3Set a and a so big pulls pop on stream.
- 4Go live:
draft → auction → rip → summary. Sell spots, then rip. - 5Let the live overlays (, , ) build hype as packs open.
What's different
This is the standard, full-length flow. Because wax is sealed, values are driven by manufacturer odds rather than a known — so the chase/odds overlays do the heavy lifting, and a guaranteed usually isn't shown.
Watch out for
EV on wax is an odds-based estimate, not a manifest total. TWP runs in its chance-of-a-chase mode for wax.
Selling singles, one card at a time
You sell individual cards — not spots in a sealed product. No teams, no sealed-box manifest.
Recommended flow
- 1Add your cards as inventory (raw or /).
- 2Create a singles auction or fixed-price break. These use the shorter, compressed flow that simply shows as "Live".
- 3Skip the spot list — there are no teams to claim.
- 4Use each card's and to set a smart starting price, then sell one card at a time.
What's different
No spots, no chase list, no -style pack overlays — those are for sealed-product breaks. The number that matters is each card's EV versus recent comps.
Watch out for
EV is an estimate built from market comps. Treat it as a guide for your starting price, not the final price.
Windows + eBay Live
You stream from a Windows PC and sell on eBay Live rather than Whatnot.
Recommended flow
- 1Set up product and create your break exactly as any breaker would.
- 2Capture and stream from Windows. A dedicated BreakersDNA camera-splitter desktop app for Windows is coming soon; until it ships, use your existing capture software to feed the card camera into your break page.
- 3Run the break on BreakersDNA for identification, EV, and the on-stream overlay; run the audience, bidding, payments, and shipping on eBay Live.
What's different
Your selling platform is eBay Live, so checkout and shipping happen there. The BreakersDNA side (identification, EV, overlays) is identical to any other breaker's.
Watch out for
BreakersDNA doesn't process eBay payments or shipping — reconcile sales on eBay. Your EV already reflects eBay-derived market data: pricing partners like Card Hedger build their numbers from eBay sales.
Supplying repacks
You build repack products and supply them to breakers — you may never run a live break yourself.
Recommended flow
- 1Build a : every card with its , , and .
- 2It becomes an with a .
- 3Breakers link your set to their break by that lot number — your card values load automatically.
What's different
You work in manifests and aftermarket sets, not live breaks. Manifest import/export is a CSV whose value columns are ev, ev_low, and ev_high.
Watch out for
How complete your manifest is controls the floor: a manifest enables a real Floor; chase-only and partial manifests show $0. Old CSVs using pv headers are rejected — rename them to ev.
