What's in a real Card Birth Certificate?

On-stream identification image

The frame captured by the card scanner during the live break — proof the card appeared on camera at a specific moment.

Flatbed scan (front & back)

A high-resolution flatbed scan of the raw card taken during or immediately after the break. This is the input to the forensic Fingerprint ID — not a phone photo.

Card facts (card snapshot)

Year, manufacturer, set, player, card number, variant, and sport — frozen at the moment the certificate was issued.

Fingerprint ID

A unique identifier derived from a multi-layer forensic analysis of the scan. The analysis internals are kept private (patent-pending); the public certificate shows only the Fingerprint ID. A buyer can later scan their physical card to check whether it matches.

Parents (Card Buyer)

The buyer's handle — listed playfully as the card's "parents." Shows who the card went to when it was pulled.

Doctor (Breaker)

The host who pulled the card live on stream — listed playfully as the "doctor" who attended the birth.

Hospital (Breaking Company) & Network (Platform)

The breaking company the card was born at, and the platform the break streamed on (Whatnot, eBay Live, …).

Card Birth Certificates are available on breaks where the breaker's company has the CBC add-on enabled. Raw wax and repack cards only — graded (slabbed) cards are excluded, as they're already serialized. BreakersDNA does not grade cards or guarantee card value.
