Live tools & overlays
Three things make a live break run smoothly: knowing what's happening (the live dashboard), splitting the work (crew mode), and showing viewers the data ().
Before your first show, run the Camera & Stream Test(under Setup) — it checks your camera and identification end-to-end so the first card you scan on air isn't also the first card you've ever scanned.
The live dashboard
Live Dashboard shows every active break at once — phase, spots sold, running totals — refreshing automatically. If you run multiple channels or shows in a night, this is the page you keep open.
Crew mode — break with helpers
Open a break's Scanner page on a second device and each person picks a role:
Operator (hammer)
Runs the show: confirms scans, assigns cards to buyers, enters sales. If you break solo, you’re the operator and the scanner at once — the split is optional.
Scanner
Camera only. Scans cards and sends them to the operator’s queue — no sell button, so a helper can’t accidentally commit a sale.
Packer
Read-only view of sold cards with buyer info, built for the person sleeving and stacking orders while the show keeps moving.
Overlays on stream (OBS)
Overlays are just URLs. In OBS (or any streaming software that supports browser sources): Sources → Add → Browser, paste the overlay URL from your Overlays page, set the size, done. Easier still: the Overlays page can export a ready-made OBS scene collection — import it and every overlay is already positioned.
- Card ticker & sold celebration — Each card as it goes up, and a celebration when it sells — the starter pair.
- Spots board — Which spots are taken and which are open during the auction phase.
- Floor / ceiling & threshold — The break’s value range and the hit threshold, visible to everyone.
- Chase & hit overlays — The chase cards still in play, and the hit animation when one lands.
- Compliance Mark (required) — The BreakersDNA verification badge with a QR code viewers scan to open the breaker’s BreakersDNA channel on their phone, where the live break record is shown. Required on every tracked break.
- Custom ticker — Your own scrolling announcement text.
Good to know
- Most overlay URLs are public by design— they only show what viewers are allowed to see. The breaker-private Sold overlay (which can include your margin) uses a secured URL from the OBS scene export. Treat that one like a password and don't screen-share it.
- If an overlay shows up blank in OBS, re-copy the URL from the Overlays page — a truncated paste is the usual culprit.
- If the AI misreads a card mid-rip, correct it right there — the fix flows into the buyer's spot, the EV totals, and the overlays immediately.
