Provably fair random wheel — try it yourself
When a break uses the random wheel, every spin's result can be independently recomputed and verified after the fact — nobody, including BreakersDNA, can quietly reroll a bad pull. This page runs the same cryptographic construction the server uses, live in your browser, so you can watch the whole commit → spin → reveal → verify cycle happen.
Illustrative demo. All data on this page is invented. The seed, the break id, and the spot names below are generated fresh in your browser and never touch a real break or a real BreakersDNA server. This page exists purely to demonstrate the fairness mechanism.
1. A seed is committed, hidden
Before any spin happens, a random seed is generated and only its SHA-256 fingerprint is published — the seed itself stays hidden until later.

2. Spin — each result is derived, not rolled fresh
Every spin combines the hidden seed with a spin number that can never repeat. Try it — up to 5 spins in this demo.
3. Reveal the seed — recompute every spin yourself
On a real break this happens when the break completes. Once the seed is revealed, anyone — not just BreakersDNA — can redo this exact arithmetic and confirm every spin was genuinely derived from the committed seed, not chosen after the fact.
How this works on a real break
- The seed is committed before auction opens
- The moment a break first enters auction, BreakersDNA generates a random seed and publishes its SHA-256 fingerprint immediately — before a single spin happens, and long before anyone knows what the results will be. The seed itself stays private on our servers until the break completes.
- Every spin gets a unique, race-free spin number
- Each spin atomically advances a per-break counter, so two spins can never land on the same spin number — which matters, because the spin number is part of what determines the result.
- The result is derived, not rolled fresh
- Each spin's winner comes from HMAC-SHA256(seed, breakId + ":" + spinNumber) — the same construction this page runs in your browser. Nobody, including BreakersDNA staff, can choose or swap a result without it being detectable later.
- The seed is revealed when the break completes
- Once revealed, the seed and every spin's inputs are enough for anyone — a buyer, a moderator, a competitor, you — to redo the exact same math and confirm every spin actually came from the committed seed.
Breaks that started before this shipped fall back to ordinary server-side random draws — still fair, just not independently recomputable after the fact.
